FORMER Cherries boss Scott Parker is currently the bookies' favourite to take over at recently relegated Burnley.
The Clarets have been searching for a new manager after the departure of Vincent Kompany earlier this summer to German giants Bayern Munich.
Bookies William Hill currently have Parker at 4/7 odds to become the new boss at Turf Moor, with the manager currently out of work.
After bringing Fulham to the Premier League via the Championship play-offs, Parker joined Cherries in the summer of 2021, leading AFC Bournemouth to automatic promotion from the second tier.
Sacked by Cherries at the start of the 2022/23 season over a disagreement in transfer policy, Parker returned to management with Belgian Pro League outfit Club Brugge in December 2022.
However, the former England captain endured a torrid time on the continent, lasting just three months and 12 matches, winning only two games.
Since his sacking by the Belgian outfit in March 2023, Parker has been out of work.
Other leading candidate contain former Everton and Chelsea boss Frank Lampard, former Hull City manager Liam Rosenior, and Craig Bellamy, the Burnley assistant manager currently serving as interim head coach.
After winning the Championship title in 2022/23, Burnley were relegated with 24 points from 38 games, winning just five times in the Premier League last season.
AFC Bournemouth recorded a double over the Clarets, winning 2-1 at Vitality Stadium before visiting Lancashire later in the season to record a 1-0 win at Turf Moor.
