CHELSEA have reportedly been put off by the supposed £65million release clause in Dominic Solanke’s AFC Bournemouth contract.
After reporting that Solanke’s deal with Cherries contains a specific release clause that can only be met by certain clubs, the Athletic now state that Chelsea’s interest in the striker has waned due to the size of the clause.
Solanke came through the academy at Chelsea, going on to make one senior appearance for the Blues before joining Liverpool in 2017.
Cherries brought Solanke to the south coast in January 2019 for a reported £19million, the deal also allegedly containing a sell-on clause that will see Liverpool earn 20 per cent of any profit from a future transfer.
One-time England international Solanke enjoyed a fine season in the Premier League last term, scoring 19 times in 38 appearances.
