CHERRIES have reportedly missed out on central defender Lilian Brassier to French giants Olympique Marseille.
L’Equipe claim that Marseille have beaten AFC Bournemouth and Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg to the signature of French centre-back Brassier, also claiming that Cherries offered ‘superior terms’.
Capped five times by France’s under-20s, the 24-year-old has played over 100 times in the French top-flight, helping Stade Brestois finish third in Ligue 1 and qualify for the Champions League for the first time in club history.

Marseille will supposedly pay €10 million for Brassier’s services, who has reportedly agreed a five-year deal with the French club.
Currently without a manager, Marseille are expected to hire former Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi in the coming days.
Last season Marseille finished eighth out of 18 teams in Ligue 1, missing out on European qualification.
