ALEX Scott says he was “very happy” with how he performed during the closing weeks of his debut Premier League season, adding: “I’ve been showing the best version of myself.”
Scott, a £20million signing from Bristol City last summer, made 27 appearances for Cherries in 2023-24, scoring two goals and providing four assists, and broke into the England under-21 set-up.
His progress was hampered by two knee injuries, restricting him to 11 league starts, as he battled midfield competition in the squad.
Scott earned a run of three straight starts across April and May, which included wins over Wolverhampton Wanderers & Brighton & Hove Albion.

Discussing his increased game-time in the final weeks of the season, midfielder Scott told the Daily Echo: “Obviously I had a little bit of a tough spell at the start of the year, February and March sort of time.
“I think since maybe the Aston Villa game (April 21) I’ve been showing the best version of myself, whether that be off the bench or from the starting XI.
“I’m very happy with how I finished this season, my first season in the Premier League.”
The 20-year-old added: “I’ve enjoyed it so much.
“Tough times with the injuries as well and coming back from them was always going to be hard, but I’ve really enjoyed it and I’m ready to go again next season.
“Hopefully I can really kick on in my second year.”
Cherries begin their Premier League season away at Nottingham Forest on Saturday, August 17.
