TWO Cherries came face-to-face at the Euros on Sunday evening, Milos Kerkez’s Hungary knocking out Ryan Christie’s Scotland in dramatic fashion.
Kevin Csoboth found a winner after 10 minutes of injury time, consigning Christie and Scotland to a 1-0 defeat.
Defender Kerkez started the encounter for Hungary, whilst Christie was introduced in hopes of finding a winner with seven minutes remaining.
Defeat meant that Scotland finished bottom of Group A with just one point from three games, whilst Hungary must wait to see if they advance after finishing on third with three points.
Four third-placed teams will advance to the knockout stages of the competition based on their record, meaning the Hungarians must hope that at least two teams in other groups do not surpass their points total.
Hungary’s -3 goal difference is an added hindrance, meaning it is unlikely they would advance if it came down to goal difference.
