REVENGE tasted sweet for Hamworthy United as Warren Byerley struck twice to send Penryn out 2-0 in Cornwall.

He propelled United in front in the 40th minute with a near post header from a corner.

Byerley put the tie beyond doubt with a 65th-minute penalty awarded after Mark Clare-mont had been brought down.

Hammers manager Phil Simkin, whose side fixed up a visit to Western League Premier Division high-riders Radstock in the second qualifying round, said: "We created numerous chances. If we'd won six or seven nil it wouldn't have been a travesty, we played that well.

"We went to Penryn three or four years ago and got knocked out, so it was very nice to go there and get a result because it was such a long journey from Dorset to make."

Hamworthy United: Peters, Crow, Grimason, Cherrett, Walker, McCabe, Constable, Dancer (Yelland 80), Thomas (Claremont 60), Byerley, Jackson.
