CHERRIES youngster Charlie Osborne has completed a loan move to Austrian club TSV Hartberg.

The 18-year-old has joined the top-flight outfit on a deal until the end of the season.

Hartberg ended fifth in the Austrian Bundesliga last season, their highest finish since promotion in 2017-18.

Osborne recently signed a new contract at Cherries, having progressed from the under-18s into the development squad.

Hartberg head coach Markus Schopp, a former Austria international, said: "Charlie was already with us in the spring and showed off his talent.

“He is a super exciting player who now wants to make his way into adult football.

“We will support him in this. He has very good abilities with which he can definitely help us."

Midfielder Osborne himself added: “I'm really happy to be here.

“I hope to gain important experience with the first team and get as many minutes of play as possible.

“I'm developing as a player and I definitely want to return after my loan in Hartberg as a better player than I am now.”

Hartberg have the smallest stadium in Austria’s top division, the Profertil Arena housing around 5,000 fans.

They have upcoming friendlies against Spartak Trnava, Flyeralarm Admira and Rukh Vynnyky, before getting their competitive season underway against third-tier SK Bischofshofen in the Austrian Cup on July 26.

Osborne is the second player from Cherries’ development squad to head out on loan this week, after Michael Dacosta Gonzalez joined Crawley Town.

Alan Connell takes his squad to Spain next week for a pre-season training camp.
