LEWIS Beale scored twice as Wimborne Town were beaten 4-2 by National League Eastleigh in an entertaining contest at the newly-named Wyatt Homes Stadium.

Beale put the Magpies ahead early on, netting again later in the half, with the score 2-2 at the break.

Spitfires, who compete two levels above Wimborne, netted twice after the restart to claim victory.

Beale slotted home in just the fifth minute, tucking into the bottom corner.

Ex-Eastleigh goalkeeper Ross Flitney denied Tyrese Shade a quick equaliser, but the Spitfires man would not be denied on 15 minutes, firing home a shot in off the bar to level scores.

Spitfires doubled their tally just past the half-hour mark, one-time Wales international Jake Taylor calmly finishing off the chance.

But back came Wimborne, Beale grabbing his second of the afternoon.

Eastleigh made wholesale changes at half-time and were soon back in front. Malachi Dotse was fouled by Flitney, allowing veteran Chris Maguire to score from the penalty spot.

Tommy Scott was forced into a save to deny Wimborne the chance to equalise, before Richard Brindley’s goal secured the victory.

Tim Sills’s Wimborne return to action on Tuesday night, hosting Weymouth (7.30pm).
