CHERRIES have reportedly “registered an interest” in Celtic defender Bosun Lawal.

The versatile 21-year-old spent last season out on loan in England’s League One at Fleetwood Town, alongside Cherries midfielder Gavin Kilkenny.

Ireland-born Lawal made 46 appearances for the Cod Army, scoring six goals.

Lawal, who spent time in Watford’s academy, has made one competitive senior appearance for Celtic, as a late substitute in a 5-0 win over Greenock Morton in the Scottish FA Cup in January 2023.

The Republic of Ireland under-21 international has reportedly attracted interest from both Cherries and Stoke City, with Football Insider claiming both face strong competition from Austrian outfit RB Salzburg.

Birmingham City have also been linked, with Celtic said to be open to loan or permanent offers, while Lawal is reportedly open to an exit.

Lawal has featured twice for Celtic during pre-season this summer.
