CHERRIES have been rocked by the news Tyler Adams is set for another spell on the sidelines.
The USA international joined Cherries from Leeds United last summer for around £20million, but made just four appearances last season due to injuries.
The midfielder featured three times for his country at this summer’s Copa America, but that only aggravated a pre-existing back issue.
Adams is with the Cherries squad for their pre-season tour in America, but will not play any part and will miss the start of the Premier League season.

Head coach Andoni Iraola explained: “With Tyler, we have a situation. He finished the season with us with an injury in his back.
“He wanted to play in Copa America, obviously very important for him. He went through the tournament, but was with minutes restriction.
“He was still feeling pain in his back. Two days after they were out of the competition, he had surgery again in his back.
“So actually he is out and he will be out for some time.
“But it was the decision he had to take, because he couldn’t play with this pain. He started feeling it after a couple of games he played with us, against Everton.
“He went through the last weeks of the season, but he was suffering, even playing the games for the national team.
“So he has had to go to surgery to correct some hernia, like a lot of players had before. But he has already now started the process and he will be out some time.”
Asked how long he expects Adams to be missing, Iraola added: “For me, it is difficult to say, because I am not a doctor.
“But definitely he is not going to be at the start of the season with us. I don’t know if it’s September or October.
“But he will be out. For other players, these are the kind of timings.”
Put to him Cherries should have denied Adams permission to feature at Copa America if he was already injured, Iraola replied: “It is not our choice.
“It’s a matter of decisions. The national squad are allowed to call the players and check them.
“Obviously he wanted to play the competition with his national team. I think he was thinking he could go through some pain and the injury would get better.
“But once he was with the national team and started training with them, he felt it was even getting worse than it was with us.
“Probably he had to take the decision to have surgery as soon as the tournament ended.”
