CHERRIES goalkeeper Alex Paulsen impressed as New Zealand made a winning start at the Paris Olympics.
Paulsen played the full 90 minutes for former Watford defender Darren Bazeley’s side, as they sealed a 2-1 opening win over Guinea in Nice.
The Oly Whites took a first half lead through London-born midfielder Matthew Garbett.
Paulsen made some fine saves but could not prevent Anderlecht midfielder Amadou Diawara equalising.

However, New Zealand got the winner soon after, courtesy of Plymouth Argyle’s Ben Waine.
New Zealand have two group games remaining, against USA on Sunday and hosts France on Tuesday (both 6pm).
Thierry Henry’s France currently top the group having beaten USA 3-0 in their opening game, with former Premier League stars Michael Olise and Alexandre Lacazette on target.
