TEENAGER Ashton Boughen has been drafted in to guest for Poole Pirates in their two upcoming fixtures.
Poole head north to face Glasgow Tigers at Ashfield tonight (7.30pm), before stopping off on their way home at Workington Comets tomorrow afternoon (3pm).
But they will be without Dane Tobias Thomsen for both fixtures, after he spectacularly crashed out whilst attempting a pass on Nathan Ablitt during Wednesday’s 60-29 win over Scunthorpe Scorpions.
Thomsen withdrew from the meeting due to an ankle injury and is not yet fit to feature in the two SGB Championship contests.
Gary Havelock is set to take on team management roles for both matches, with Poole looking to extend their lead atop the table.
Pirates won the home meeting against Championship newcomers Workington 61-29 back in May, putting them in a strong position to pick up the aggregate bonus point at the GT Tyres Arena.
Promoter Danny Ford said: "We have a very healthy lead over Workington, who we race on Saturday, which is an experience we are all looking forward to.
“They are strong at home, just slipped up once since becoming a Championship club but if we can get dialled in quickly there then we could be in with a good chance.”
Havelock added: "I have been there before for their individual meeting last year.
“It's a wicked little set-up and is a track that I think our lads should take to quite well.
“It's not big but it's wide and it's fast and rides like a big track, a bit like Redcar, so I think it should be good."
Pirates: Lawson, Boughen (guest), B Cook, Z Cook, Brennan, Hagon, Foord.
