CHERRIES' development squad’s return to England saw them notch a 2-1 win away at National League South Weymouth.
Following a training camp in Spain, which included friendly defeats to FC Cartagena and Nottingham Forest B, Alan Connell’s side headed to the Bob Lucas Stadium.
Connell took on former Cherries teammate Mark Molesley in the opposition dugout and emerged victorious.
Weymouth-born Jonny Stuttle enjoyed a happy homecoming, the striker scoring both of Cherries’ goals, either side of a Francis Amartey header.
Terras’ team included a host of former Cherries, including Ben Greenwood, Euan Pollock, Brooklyn Genesini and Josh McQuoid.
Stuttle broke the deadlock on 24 minutes after good work down Cherries’ left, before goalkeeper Gerard Benfield impressively denied him a second.
At the other end, Billy Terrell thwarted Malachi Linton, but he could not prevent Amartey from nodding in.
Weymouth pushed forwards to try and get their noses in front, Pollock going close, before Cherries got back ahead on 71 minutes.
A defensive error gifted Stuttle an opportunity, which he would not waste, firing into the bottom corner.
Connell next takes his young side to Wimborne Town on Saturday (3pm).
Cherries: Terrell, Gregory, William, Winterburn, Boutin, Williams, Brown, Clarke, Sadi, Rees-Dottin, Stuttle.
Subs: Ogunleye, Trialist A, Trialist B, Day, Mottoh, Allan (g/k), McKenna (g/k).
