SWANAGE lost narrowly to Dorchester Sports in their Dorset Premier League clash at Day’s Park in a close fought encounter.

Dorchester took an early lead just two minutes in from their first attack, with Tood Coombs slotting home from close range.

Swanage responded well, with Cody Moore standing out on the right-hand side, but Dorchester’s defence remained resolute.

Dorchester were reduced to 10 men after a late and high tackle from Liam Taylor in the 32nd minute, with two forced substitutions minutes later through injury.

But they almost doubled their lead in the 40th minute as Godfrey’s diving header hit the post, and Swanage went close before the break with Magnier’s shot and Reavenall-Nuete’s header both going over the bar.

The second half was defined by Swanage’s attempts to draw level.

Kadin Jacques in Swanage’s goal made two crucial saves to keep them in it, and Swanage had a golden opportunity to draw level on the 89th minute.

Ocean Smith broke through and was one-on-one with the ‘keeper, but he fired over the bar as Dorchester held on for a hard fought victory.
