THE first international break of the season is here which inevitably lends itself to a break from Premier League action.
Although there is no Cherries game this weekend, there is plenty of non-league football to occupy your Saturday afternoons with.
Poole Town travel to The Webbswood Stadium as Steve Tully’s side face Swindon Supermarine for the third time this week.
The Dolphins will go into the game in high spirits after a convincing display midweek in the FA Cup First Round Qualifying Replay as goals from Tyrique Clarke and Toby Holmes were enough to ensure Poole progressed to the next round.
A few players unavailable for Poole as Tom Hewlett misses out through suspension and Charlie Davis still has some way to go before he can step foot on a football pitch again following picking up a knee injury against Wimborne on Bank Holiday Monday.
Due to Davis’ injury, manager Steve Tully has had to strengthen his ranks, bringing in Irish midfielder Charlie Cummins on a four-month loan from Exeter City.
Tully commented on the teenager’s arrival, as he said: “Delighted to get Charlie on board, he’s the right type of character and will add quality to our midfield.”
Elsewhere on Saturday, Wimborne Town host Hungerford Town at The Wyatt Homes Stadium.
Manager Tim Sills will be looking to build on an impressive 3-0 win away to Tiverton Town in the FA Cup.
The Magpies had an impressive start to the season as they won their opening two games.
However, they have struggled of late, losing the following three including a 4-0 defeat at home to Walton and Hersham emphasising the significance of three points for Sills’ side this Saturday.
Striker Will Fletcher will be looking to continue his goal-scoring form after an excellent brace in the FA Cup First Round Qualifying.
The last time these two sides met was in the 2012/13 campaign and it ended in a 0-0 stalemate at Bulpit Lane which was witnessed by a crowd of 68 on the day.
Hamworthy United travel to Frimley Green on Saturday in the Wessex League Division One.
The Hammers will look to get back to winning ways following Tuesday’s defeat to Lymington Town in the Wessex League Cup.
Dan Cann’s side currently sit in 3rd place after six league games with four wins.
Bailey Rowe will be looking to get on the scoresheet once again as he already has nine goals in all competitions so far for Hamworthy United this season.
