THE points were shared in a six-goal thriller between Swanage and Herston FC and Poole Borough.

A dramatic start under the lights at Day’s Park in the Dorset Premier League clash saw Borough take an early lead through Dan Mirto, who glanced a close-range effort home with just three minutes on the clock.

The Swans responded immediately through Ocean Smith, who levelled a minute later with a well-place shot across the keeper.

Despite losing centre forward Josh Reavenall-Nuete through injury after 15 minutes, Swanage took the lead after 25 minutes through Ogun Gundogdo, who headed in from a free kick.

Smith was a constant threat and extended Swanage’s lead shortly before the break, finishing brilliantly after a solo run to make it 3-1 at half time.

But just five minutes after the break the visitors got a goal back, with a tidy finish from Stephen Dennis.

Swanage had chances to extend the gap with Cohen Lee going close before drawing a brilliant save from Borough keeper James.

With just over 20 minutes to play, Borough equalised through Conor Jevon with a stunning shot from outside the box.

In the frantic final stages, neither side could get the decisive goal as they pressed for a winner, with Swans’ Stephen Pryor seeing a goalbound header cleared off the line, as the game ended 3-3.
