BOURNEMOUTH travel to Newbury as they aim to make it three wins on the bounce in Regional 2 South Central.

Hot on the heels of a last gasp one-point win over Winchester, the Lions will be hoping continue their form.

Director of rugby Will Croker is looking forward to the clash in Newbury, against a side that have previously played in the Championship.

“It feels like you're going to a big club when you go there just because of the atmosphere that they create,” Croker said.

“They've not had their best of starts, they've struggled a little bit in terms of consistency of results, but they're always a threat.

“They've got a couple of good players. The brothers, the Thornes [Dan and Toby] in the backs and Kyle Doel in the second row are all very talented boys, so we've got to be very much on our mettle.

“We don't want to undo the good work of last week, winning against Winchester by going there and being anything other than really well prepared.”

Tom Gould comes in, and George Cotterell makes his first appearance for the club since returning “In the backs, Ben Salisbury is unavailable, so we've brought Ollie Byrne up onto the bench,” Croker said.

“He's an incredibly talented youngster that's joined us from Exeter Uni, having been through the Bath academy.

“A real talent, very, very good skill set for a scrum half and we're looking forward to seeing how he goes.”

Bournemouth’s second side face Bognor at home, with Stanley Vincent returning to the Nomads side since rejoining the club from Worthing.

Croker is expecting a good game against a physical team in Bognor, while the third team host local rivals Oakmedians’ second team.

Croker added: “It's another big weekend of rugby for us and we're targeting trying to get a full house of 15 points from 15.”
