BOURNEMOUTH Poppies manager Phill Brown is “pleased” with his side’s start to the campaign.
Poppies currently sit in 5th position in the Wessex League, just inside the playoff places.
Brown joined the Poppies in the summer of 2021 and has been at the helm ever since.
When speaking to the Echo, he said: “We’ve started really well, probably the best start we’ve had since I’ve been manager of the club.”
He added: “The aim first and foremost is to stay in the league, we’ve set ourselves a bar and as long as we keep pushing that bar upwards, I think we’ll be okay.”
The club have recently announced the signing of Freddie Bullard from Bemerton Heath Harlequins.
The striker has already found the back of the net on two occasions since joining the club.
On the new arrival, Brown said: “Freddie is a big signing for us, I’ve been after him for a while.”
He added: “We needed a new striker so we brought in Freddie on a dual-reg, he’s going to be a massive player for us when he’s fit and match ready, he’ll be a really good addition for us.”
