THE Dolphins were well-beaten by Gosport Borough in a 3-1 defeat at The BlackGold Stadium.

Poole Town used the game as an opportunity to commemorate those who sadly lost their lives serving their country in the armed forces.

Manager Steve Tully made three changes to his starting eleven with Tyler Forbes, Harry Thomas returning to the squad and Dario De Luca earning his first start.

The game got underway with Gosport not only dominating possession but having the better of the chances early on.

Their pressure payed off in the 10th minute when a short free kick led to Bradley Tarbuck firing past Cam Plain to open the scoring.

Tully’s side grew into the game and went close after 25 minutes when Harvey Slade headed over after a great ball in from Antonio Diaz.

The away side doubled their lead a few minutes before half time through Agbeseyi who converted from a corner.

The half came to a close with Gosport in a deserved 2-0 lead.

The second 45 started with Poole starting to show glimpses of promise, Jake McCarthy went close on the 58th minute but his effort was blocked on the line by a number of bodies.

With 15 minutes remaining, striker Toby Holmes was brought down in the area and the referee pointed to the spot.

McCarthy converted the penalty to half the deficit and gave the Poole fans a glimmer of hope.

All hope faded away when Gosport scored their third through Alfie Stanley to ensure the away side came away with all three points.

Things went from bad to worse for Poole when defender Harry Thomas was shown a second yellow card with moments to go.

A disappointing day at The BlackGold Stadium for Poole as they lose back-to-back league games for the first time this season.
