TOM Brennan has confirmed that he will be leaving Poole Pirates next season as he looks to ‘take the jump’ in his career.

The Pirates star said on social media that he would be leaving the club ahead of next year, but thanked Poole for their help and support.

In a message on X, Brennan said: “Goodbye to the Championship for now… “I’ve had a lot of questions regarding my plans for 2025 and I can now announce that I will be stepping away from Championship racing next season.

“I’ve had a lot of fun during my time in the Championship since 2021 and have learnt a lot in my time representing Eastbourne, Glasgow and Poole.

“However, there comes a time where I have to take the jump to try and do what I think will progress my career the most and unfortunately dropping Championship is a part of that.

“I’ve made it no secret that my time with the club has been extremely enjoyable and a large part in teaching me a different way of racing and my improvement this year.

“Hopefully, I can wear the Pirate on my chest again some time soon and can’t thank Matt, Danny, Havvy, Middlo, the fans and everybody behind the scenes for my time with the club. Thanks again for all the support as always.”

Brennan finished the season with an average of more than nine points and was one of the standout riders as Pirates overturned a 12-point deficit to win the Championship.

In the second leg, Brennan notched 13 points for Poole and told the Daily Echo that he felt he needed to improve from an ‘awful’ first leg where he picked up just 4+1.

Brennan is the second rider to confirm his exit from Pirates, after Ben Cook confirmed he would not be returning next year.
