AFC BOURNEMOUTH’S Adam Smith was ‘buzzing’ after a ‘tough’ afternoon against Manchester City, as the Cherries ran out deserved 2-1 victors over the Citizens.
Skipper Smith was part of a back four that restricted their visitors to just four shots on target – the first of those coming after the 80th minute.
Speaking on the challenge he faced against City, Smith said: “It's real tough.
“[The] two centre done fantastic against Haaland, Milos was an attacking threat.
“I felt I did okay with [Matheus] Nunes, and then Doku comes on last 15, which is difficult, so I didn't really need that.
“But luckily we got the win in the end.”
On the emotions in the Cherries camp after what was a historic victory for the side, beating City for the first time in their history, Smith said: “[The] lads are buzzing.
“First win over Man City and it's been a long time coming.
“So, lads are enjoying themselves, but we're in training tomorrow, so we can't enjoy ourselves too much and then ready for Brentford next week.”
