ERIN Bloomfield netted a third hattrick in eight games as AFC Bournemouth beat Bournemouth Sports in the National League.

The striker broke the Sports resistance shortly before half time, before scoring her tenth and eleventh goals in her past five appearances to complete her hattrick in the second half.

Kenni Thompson and Jenna Markham scored in the second half too, to complete a 5-0 victory for the Cherries over their Bournemouth neighbours.

The two sides came into the game at different ends of the table, with the Cherries second in the National League Division One South West and Sports one place above the relegation zone.

Sports coped well with the Cherries forward line in the opening exchanges, with chances at a premium.

Keeper Chloe Traves saved from Katie James and Kate Kingshott, before Bloomfield saw a header cleared off the line by Jess Fowell after 25 minutes.

The scoring was opened by Bloomfield in stoppage time at the end of the first period, as she headed home after a Molly Barron-Clark free kick was nodded across goal by a defender.

Steve Cuss made five changes at the break, with Kelci Bowers, Ellie Strippel, Gemma McGuinness, Thompson and Pheobe Williams coming on.

The lead was doubled as Bloomfield turned provider, Thompson finding the back of the net from the forward’s cut back midway through the half.

Two minutes later it was three, as Markham notched her 15th goal of the season turning in a Bowers cross.

Markham went close moments later but saw her volleyed effort flash over the bar.

McGuinness hit the side netting before Bloomfield added her second, heading past Traves from a pinpoint Abby Jones cross after 83 minutes.

Bloomfield completed her hattrick late on from the spot, as Markham was brought down in the box.

With the victory, the Cherries move to within four points of Swindon with two games in hand, who they face on Sunday at the Vitality Stadium.
