POOLE Town returned to winning ways in a convincing 3-1 win on the road against Basingstoke.
Manager Steve Tully made four changes to his starting eleven including the introduction of new signing Ezio Touray.
Both sets of fans were in fine voice making the game quite the spectacle.
The Dolphins started the game on the front foot creating a number of early chances.
Poole’s relentless pressure proved its worth as they took the lead after 14 minutes through debutant Touray.
A great ball across from Jamie Whisken left Touray with a tap in infront of goal to open the scoring.
Not long after, the Dolphins doubled their lead through Josh Staunton who fired past the helpless Simon Grant after a great set piece from Oakley Hanger.
A convincing first half from Poole was only made better as Toby Holmes fired home to make it three just before the break.
The half came to a close with the Dolphins in a commanding position.
The second half got underway with Basingstoke growing into the game in search of a goal.
Steve Tully made his first change on the hour mark with Tom Hewlett coming on for Toby Holmes.
As the half progressed, Basingstoke pushed to get back into the game and eventually found the back of the net on the 65th minute through Charlie Barlow to make it 3-1.
Rafa Ramos had two huge chances off the bench to put the nail in the coffin but was unable to convert.
Basingstoke looked for a second, but a resilient Poole Town defence held strong and kept the hosts out.
The referee brought proceedings to an end with Poole earning all three points in a convincing win.
Next up for Poole is a home match against Hungerford Town at The BlackGold Stadium next Saturday.
