ANDONI Iraola felt his side should have had a penalty against Brentford as they searched for a second half equaliser.

Evanilson went down in the box shortly after the Bees had taken the lead through Yoane Wissa.

Speaking to the media after his side were unable to find an equaliser, the game finishing 3-2 to the hosts, Iraola was adamant that his side should have been given a spot kick.

He explained: “Because Evanilson is against the keeper and I argue and they say no, he kicks himself.

“But he kicks himself because they kick him before. I don't think it's on purpose from, I think it's Pinnock.

Despite not being awarded a penalty, Iraola was pleased with Evanilson’s performance, the striker netting the opening goal of the game.

The Brazilian read the play fantastically to intercept an under hit Brentford back pass, and rounded keeper Mark Flekken before rolling the ball into an empty net.

Evanilson also played the full 90 minutes for the first time for the Cherries after joining as the club-record signing in the summer.

“It's very similar to the two penalties that he has managed to get for us where he's trying to continue the passes back to the keeper and he has finished well.

“He has been working well. Obviously has finished the game very, very tired.

“But, we needed to put the two nines there and to put the balls inside the box. And even if we knew that he was probably struggling a little bit, we wanted to keep him there.”
