GOAL scorer Katie James and boss Steve Cuss relished a fantastic atmosphere at the Vitality Stadium as the Cherries put four past Swindon to heap the pressure on the league leaders.
The bumper crowd of 6,054 at Dean Court got behind the side as they pressed for an opening goal in the first period, then erupted when James scored on 35 minutes.
James told the Daily Echo: “It's amazing to be able to score as well and celebrate with the fans.
“Down at Ringwood, it's a bit difficult to get this many down there, but it's nice to see everyone here and seeing the kids at the end with the smiling faces.
“And that's what we do it for, really, is to inspire the next generation of girls. And hopefully one day they'll be out here and I'll be up there watching them play.”
Cuss praised the Cherries faithful as they back his side to an emphatic win that takes them to just one point behind their visitors in the National League Division One South West – with two games in hand.
“[It was a] really special day, makes a really special day for the players when we get this many people in the Vitality Stadium,” Cuss told the Daily Echo.
“I thought they were absolutely fantastic. They got right behind us.
“Some of the noise levels were brilliant. When the goals went in, the roar from the crowd was brilliant.
“It creates those really special moments for the players. So, we're really grateful for the support and we're grateful that we're able to share that victory with them today.”
