WIMBORNE were beaten 3-0 by Weymouth in the Dorset Senior Cup quarter finals as record appearance holder Scott Arnold bid farewell to the club on Tuesday night.
The club captain and 'Mr Wimborne' made his 618th and final appearance in a Magpies shirt.
Arnold left the field for the final time as a Magpies player 21 years, one month and 12 days after his first runout for the club to a standing ovation and hugs and handshakes with players, the referee, spectators and management.
Goals from Christie Ward, Tom Bearwish and Brooklyn Genesini saw the Magpies beaten by the Terras at New Cuthbury.
Arnold was one of five changes that Tim Sills made to his starting lineup, while Weymouth made seven changes but fielded a strong side.
The Magpies had the first effort of note as Harry Morgan saw his free kick saved.
But the hosts were forced into an early change as their goalkeeper Alex Rutter was injured after pulling off a brilliant double save to deny Weymouth an opener after 11 minutes.
Defender Sam Jackson was called upon from the bench and took the gloves as Rutter left the field.
With 24 minutes played Weymouth found their opening though, as Ward netted his second goal for the club.
The Wycombe Wanderers loanee scored from close range as he got his shot away surrounded by Wimborne defenders.
Weymouth came close again after half an hour but Billy Walker was able to clear off the line as Weymouth dominated the game.
Wimborne's night did not get any better though, and were forced into a second first half substitution as Jack Lovell came on to replace Harry Baker.
The forward almost made an instant impact but was denied by a good save from Billy Terrell in the Weymouth goal.
After the break, the keeper on loan from AFC Bournemouth was called into action again, this time to deny Lewis Beale.
The hosts came close again as Harry Morgan let fly from outside the box but his strike smashed into the post as Wimborne pushed for an equaliser in the opening few minutes of the second half.
Weymouth had a shot tipped over the bar from stand-in keeper Jackson in the 54th minute but were able to extend their lead 15 minutes from time.
Skipper Tom Bearwish came off the bench to pinch the ball off Jackson who had misjudged a clearance and cooly slotted home.
Finn Richardson came on for his Magpies debut before Genesini put the final nail in Wimborne's coffin with eight minutes to play as he tucked the ball away from close range.
Arnold received loud applause as he was substituted for the final time in a Wimborne shirt after 84 minutes and bid farewell to two decades at the club.
Elsewhere in the cup Shaftsbury beat Hamworthy United away from home 2-1 to progress into the semi final draw along with Hamworthy Recreation who beat Swanage & Herston 4-1 at home.
Dorchester and Sturminster Newton will play next week to decide the final spot for the semi finals.
