SWANAGE & Wareham had to make the short journey to neighbours Salisbury in their latest Southern Counties league, and after a unremarkable first half the second half remained alike.

From the kick off Salisbury put the ball deep into Swans 22, Swans transgressed close to the middle of the field, and Salisbury landed the penalty after two minutes.

Swans received a penalty which took them upfield, and from the line out Salisbury made a mistake and Swans kicked the penalty making the score 3–3 after 8 minutes.

From the restart Swans were penalised on their own 22 and once again Salisbury added the score 6-3 after 10 minutes.

Both sides were guilty of several knocks on in next 5 minutes, but a Swans wing forward was yellow carded for a high tackle after 15 minutes, but Swans survived the time he was off the field.

When he resumed Swans went on the attack, but another penalty to the hosts enabled them to clear their lines.

The play continued to be scrappy, with both teams making handling errors, but on 37 minutes from a line out on Swans 22, Salisbury managed to force their way over Swans try line half way out.

The conversion was missed as Salisbury led Swanage 11-3 at half time. 

Early in the second half the hosts put Swan under pressure, but Swans cleared and from a penalty made progress into the Salisbury 22, but once again Salisbury cleared.

On the hour mark a penalty took Salisbury into Swans half and a second penalty to Salisbury, this time he decided to kick for goal making the score 14–3.

From thereon Swans upped their game and made several breaks by backs and forwards but the hosts were tackling well.

In the last 5 minutes Swans gave away other penalties taking Salisbury into Swans 22, and from a scrum and after several phases the hosts made it over the try line.

The try was converted making the score 21-3 after 76 minutes.

From the restart Salisbury knocked on in their own 22 and from the scrum Swans attacked, and from four or five phases prop forward and captain Nick Audley powered himself over the try line.

Matt Spencer added the extras as the game ended with Salisbury beating Swanage 21-10.
