AN UNDER eights rugby team is set to take part in a mini's tournament at the home of Premiership Rugby’s Saracens.

The team, from Wimborne Rugby Club, will play at the StoneX Stadium on May 31 2025, and the team is fundraising to cover the cost of entry for all of the players.

The team is a mix of boys and girls ages seven and eight, and the funds raised will help cover transport to north London on the day.

After their tournament, Saracens will face Bath in the Premiership and the team will be able to stay and watch the match.

The club said it was overwhelmed with the response from local companies to a raffle that they are holding at the U8 Christmas Party, which will be held on November 29 and will contribute to the funding.

Prizes include gifts from Gulliver’s Bookshop, Little Pickle at the Mill, Wimborne Wellness Centre, The Goods Yard and The Old Thatch, The Tivoli, Embrace Yoga Studio, Carnival Flowers, The Butchers Dog, Backdoor Shoes, Ten Bottles, Riva Hair Design and Wimborne Model Village.

Also in the raffle are Family Fest weekend tickets, V.V.I.P. weekend tickets to Bournemouth 7s, High Score Arcade, Flip Out and TeamSport karting.

Nearby companies have offered financial sponsorship to help meet the target of £3,000, including ICB Waterproofing, Summit Land and Development, Daizun Investments and ODC Door and Glass Systems.

Tickets can be purchased from the Wimborne Rugby Club team or through the club’s social media page.

Donations can also be made to the team’s GoFundMe by searching ‘Rugby Rascals: U8s Saracens Training Ground Experience’ on the GoFundMe website.
