SWANAGE Town and Herston FC secured a point on the road at Bridport Reserves to continue their unbeaten run in the league.
The Swans travelled to St Mary’s Field for the Dorset Premier League clash and came from behind twice to draw 2-2 with their hosts.
It was a scrappy opening to the game, before the Bees opened the scoring through Ashley Smith, who headed home from a corner.
Swans keeper Brad Smith kept the deficit at just one with some smart saves as both sides went close.
But Swanage grabbed the equaliser through Albie Turner, who produced a fine finish to find the bottom corner from just inside the box.
Cohen Lee then went close, striking the post, before Cody Moore nearly gave his side the lead just before the interval, but the sides went into the break at level pegging.
The second period was an even affair, but Bridport retook the lead on 55 minutes with an identical goal to their first, Jake Mansley finding the back of the net with his head from a corner.
Swanage drew level once again five minutes later, as Josh Reavenall-Nuete got the faintest of touches on a Charlie Pitt shot from a Marcus Smith free kick to divert the ball into the net.
The scoreline would stay the same for the final half an hour in what was a disjointed performance from the Swans, but they took a share of the spoils to extend their unbeaten run in the league to 10 with Craig Adams at the helm.
After the game, Swanage boss Craig Adams said: “We got away with one today and dug out a result.
“The last couple of weeks have taken their toll on our squad and we looked tired.
“Take nothing away from our opponents who are definitely in a false position in the table. We dust ourselves down, learn and move on.”
