WILLIAM Rabjohns and Mark Ruby ran for an under-20 England select team in the Euro Cross Cup at Roseleare in Belgium.
Rabjohns placed fourth, with Ruby just three seconds behind taking eighth position.
The Poole AC duo then featured in an even closer finish in the Cardiff Cross Challenge as just one second separated two pairs of athletes. Rabjohns took under-20 gold ahead of under-17 winner Matthew Clark (Preston Harriers).
Mark Ruby, third overall, edged under-20 silver from another England junior international Quinn Miell-Ingram (Radley AC).
Poole AC's Emily Parker was 16th in a senior women’s race which featured plenty of international athletes, while Darcie Collins secured under-11 girls’ Challenge bronze.
Bournemouth AC’s Isabel Cherrett was seventh in the under-17 women’s race.
Abdinasir Mahamoud Elmi has won his first three races for Bournemouth AC.
He followed a 31:02 victory in the Poole Round the Lakes 10km with a narrow Hampshire Cross-Country League win at Aldershot and a 49:25 triumph at the Wimborne 10 miles.
The Dorset newcomer has previously raced in Bahrain and Djibouti.
His club-mate Joseph Arundel was second at Poole Park (31:42) and third in Wimborne (51:08), with Vicki Ingham of Poole Runners winning both women’s races (36:37 and 59:13.)
Poole AC’s Edward Bird has been awarded the Ron Jewkes Trophy by the British Athletics Supporters Club for his bronze medal 3000m at the World Junior Championships in Peru.
Bird won the Club’s Young Athlete Award in 2022.
