Returning to the Premier League after the international break, goals after four minutes in both halves did the job for the Seagulls.
The Cherries were left to rue missed chances throughout the afternoon.

They pushed hard to get back into the game and got a consolation goal through substitute David Brooks deep into stoppage time.
Antoine Semenyo struck the crossbar with a ferociously struck volley with the final kick of the game with what would have been a stunning late equaliser, but Brighton headed back to Sussex with all three points.
