ANDONI Iraola said his side must be more efficient in front of goal after they missed a number of good chances against Brighton, eventually falling to defeat against the Seagulls.
Brighton were much the more clinical side, scoring with two good finishes in the opening four minutes of each half.
But Bournemouth rued their lack of incisiveness in front of goal, missing opportunities in both halves, before David Brooks netted a late consolation in stoppage time.
Speaking to the media after the game, Iraola said on conceding early: “For me the first goal is huge.
“When you score or you concede the first one, the game completely changes.

Cherries weren't patient enough against ten-man Brighton: Tavernier
“For sure, there are things we could improve in the goals, but also I think they have been good goals from them. The first one, especially the ball striking, and the second one, the timing of everything has been really nice.
“Of course we could change small things, but we had same quality of chances in the other side, but we didn't get them. That's probably the main reason.”
Striker Evanilson was one player who had a number of good chances to score, but was unable to find the back of the net.
On his performance, Iraola said: “Yes, he has had very, very good chances.
“I always love when my nine has chances, even if he misses, I think it speaks well about him.
“Even if they are clear with the quality he has, it's like we said before, it's a matter of statistics and he will score the next one for sure.
“Especially the first half, the one against one, I think he has done well also, a great save from the keeper, the cutback.
“The second half, a good header, another great save. Yes, he has had good chances.”
Looking at the Cherries performance as a whole, the Basque boss said: “At the end we have to be more efficient because probably we've had in both games more chances than the opposition.
“We've had more chances in volume and even in the quality of the chances, and we finished with zero points.
“In the end it’s what puts you higher or lower in the standings, your performance, especially in the boxes.”
