ANDONI Iraola was pleased that his team finished the job and took home all three points against Wolves.

It was a drama filled game at Molineux that saw the Cherries lead 3-1 after just 18 minutes thanks to two Justin Kluivert penalties and a Milos Kerkez strike.

The gap was narrowed to one as Jorgen Strand Larsen scored his second of the game with just over 20 minutes to play, but Kluivert completed his hattrick of penalties just five minutes later, as the game ended 4-2.

Iraola told the Daily Echo after the game: “[I’m] pleased about the performance, especially and about the points, because I think we were coming from two games where I think the team was playing well and probably we deserved more.

“But we needed today, apart from the performance that I think has been very good, we needed to finish the job and to take the points back home.

“And today, luckily, we could do it.”

On how his side pressed from the front, with Evanilson winning two of the three spot kicks pressuring keeper Jose Sa and drawing fouls, Iraola said he felt the press was ‘very good’.

He explained that the side pressed well particularly in the opening half an hour, and while the energy was not the same through the full 90 minutes, they were able to make Wolves uncomfortable.

“I'm happy also because I think we've defended quite well with the ball and it’s difficult to play against Wolves because they don't need a lot to score,” Iraola said.

“It's a team that, okay, it’s conceding goals, but they are scoring a lot and they have lovely players up front.

“We could see today, no, [if] it's not Cunha, it's Larsen, it’s Guedes, if [you make] one mistake and they are going to punish you.

“And even if you feel okay, we are playing well, it never felt confident today.”

Asked if he was worried after the second Wolves goal went in and Molineux rose to get behind their side, Iraola said: “I felt worried because I know Wolves and I know the players and I know how dangerous they are and they have a lot of players who can make the difference by themselves.

“I'm thinking then, okay, we are doing well, we are playing well, we are controlling the ball well.

“We are keeping the ball quite far from our goal, but I was not feeling confident because we have seen it, they have scored two.

“But you know that it's very dangerous a team to play against.”

AFC Bournemouth next host Tottenham on Thursday night at the Vitality Stadium.
