SWANAGE Town and Herston FC gained a valuable three points and extended their unbeaten streak in the league to 11 games with a 2-1 win over Blandford United.

It was a hard-fought win for the Swans as they came from behind to take the points in the Dorset Premier League.

In a first half of few chances for either side, it was the visitors who took the lead in the 19th minute when Steve Smith headed home off the bar from close range.

The hosts looked for a quick response and went close through Turner and Moore, while Swans keeper Brad Smith was needed to make some smart saves to keep the game at 1-0.

After the half-time interval, Swanage showed a steely determination, although Royals keeper Foden kept his side in the lead with excellent saves from Reavenall-Nuete and Albie Turner.

But the Swans equalised on 72 minutes through skipper Stephen Pryor, whose shot come cross from 30 yards deceived keeper Foden and found the top corner.

Both sides sought a winner in the closing stage of the game, with Smith making a good save to keep the game level.

It would be the hosts that found the decisive goal with eight minutes to play.

Conor Magnier won the ball in his own half and played in Cody Moore, who crossed for Turner to finish what was the winning goal.

Blandford pressed to find a late leveller but were unable to do so, Smith on fine form in the Swanage net, as the Swans secured all three points.

Reflecting on the game, Swans boss Craig Adams said: “The energy and fight these boys put in is incredible.

“We've played a good side today who are near the top for a reason. 1-0 down at half time but what a brilliant response in the 2nd half.

“Relentless effort and very proud of everyone. We push on together!”
