HAMWORTHY United were beaten 2-1 at AFC Aldermaston after holding a half-time lead at the Mettal Stadium on Saturday.
The first goal came in the first minute of play, with a shot from Jack Hughes for the visitors hitting the back of the net on its first attempt.
The hosts followed up with chances, seeing three shots fly past the United keeper, but could not get level before half-time.
After the break the Hammers were faced with injury as Louis Bragginton found himself victim to a challenge from Padraig Gorman, with the latter being red carded.
But despite the man advantage, the visitors could not extend their lead – with Aldermaston levelling the scoreline in the 58th minute with a shot from Thai Morgan getting beneath the keeper.
The pair alternated possession with several shots from both sides looking promising, and a ball across from Toby Diaz almost sending Hamworthy into the lead – but the AFC keeper kept his composure and held off the shot.
A corner for Aldermaston, however, saw the lead of the match taken in the 90th minute.
Lewis Small’s shot slipped past the defenders before captain Byron Anderson took a header and put away the ball, to gain a 2-1 victory for his side.
