MODEL pro Lee Bradbury is keen to leave boss Eddie Howe with a lasting impression and insists Cherries still have “everything to play for” in their final game of the season.

Bradbury, who starred as Cherries guaranteed safety with victory over Grimsby, is expected to keep his place as Eddie Howe’s men close their campaign at Morecambe tomorrow (3pm).

And having earned himself another year at Dean Court after triggering an appearance-related clause in his current contract, Bradbury knows there can be no let up.

The versatile 33-year-old told the Daily Echo: “It was mission accomplished against Grimsby. Our main aim was to stay up but, having done that, we can’t take our foot off the pedal now.

“We want to finish as high as we can and we could climb three places if we win. We want to go out on a high and on a good run of form. That’s why we need to go there and win the game.

“Our preparations have been the same as usual. We had a hard day’s training on Tuesday and had a chat about how we were going to approach the game.

“It might be perceived as a ‘nothing’ game for both teams but a lot of people will be out to impress for next season, including me.

“You are only as good as your last game. If I go to Morecambe and have a stinker it could be on Eddie’s mind for next season. I don’t want him thinking he may need to get someone in for me in the close season. I want to make sure that doesn’t go through his mind so I need to go there and do a good job.”

Bradbury added: “Next season will be my third with Bournemouth and I’m hoping we can start with a clean slate. We had deductions in the first two and it was tough on everybody.

“It’s been a mixed season. It was difficult to start with because of the points deduction and, if we hadn’t had that, we might have had another six to nine points on the board.

“Even though you try not to let it affect you, your mind-set can be a bit negative because you’re playing catch-up from day one. You start to feel more positive when you catch a few teams and that’s what happened to us.

“We went on a good run after Eddie came in and ended up turning it around. The lads reacted really well to Eddie and he’s been great.

“I’m really pleased it turned around for him and, hopefully, long may he continue to be the boss.”
