WINNING professional Martyn Thompson has heaped praise on Remedy Oak after leading his team to victory at the club’s invitational pro-am.
“I genuinely love the venue,” said the Parkstone club professional, whose team of Mark Laming, Keith Boulter and Brian Lunn clinched first place with 79 points.
“We are so lucky to have a club of such a high standard in our vicinity.
“It’s the closest to a European Tour course that many of the Dorset professionals will get the chance to play on,” added Thompson.
“Of all the courses I have played on, only the greens at Augusta and Valderrama were slightly quicker.”
Measuring 12.5 on the stimp metre, Remedy’s famous undulating greens provided a tough test for the 24 teams taking part in the annual event.
Mark Wiggett’s team matched the winning total of 79 but lost on a countback.
