KEVIN Spurgeon completed another fine weekend’s work by finishing tied 10th at the Seniors PGA Championship in Northumberland.
The Ferndown touring professional carded a one-under-par final round of 71 at De Vere Slaley Hall to finish on level par – eight shots adrift of runaway winner Carl Mason.
It was Spurgeon’s third top-10 finish of the season after successful pay-days at the Jersey Seniors Classic and Son Gual Mallorca Senior Open.
Fellow Dorset touring pro Lee James, meanwhile, finished tied in 30th place at Båstad, Sweden.
James had started yesterday’s final round of the Challenge Tour’s Princess event tied 20th, but a one-over-par 72 saw the former British Amateur Champion slip back down the leader board to three under par.
