CHRIS Holder has confirmed he will try and make a comeback from injury for his Polish side Torun on Sunday.

Pirates’ star sustained muscle damage and heavy bruising to his left arm in a horror track spill during the Grand Prix of Poland at Torun on Saturday.

At first it was feared he had broken his arm after being hit hard at full speed by Greg Hancock’s footrest when he fell.

But Holder, interviewed during the interval of Buccaneers’ home clash against Buxton tonight, said: “The crash surprised me.

“When it happened it put me in a cold sweat. I knew it wasn’t good.

“I’ve been to hospital over here in England and they said there’s nothing broken.

“It’s just muscle damage, so I will probably have a practice skid at the weekend in Poland and see how it goes.

“There was no chance of racing the following day after the accident.

“It’s touch and go this Sunday, but my arm’s getting better and better every day.”

Holder added he was aiming to return for Poole Castle Cover next Wednesday when they host Coventry in the Elite League.

He said: “It’s worked quite well since I got the injury because my Polish meeting was rained off last Sunday and I only missed out in Sweden on Tuesday on a track that wasn’t any good anyway.

“I had heavy bruising but that’s gone down a bit now.

“There’s just a bit of fluid that was building up in my arm.

“I had a physio session today and that was painful, but I should be back riding at the weekend.”

Holder watched tonight’s meeting at Wimborne Road with his mum and dad, Karen and Mick.
