BISTERNE United will meet Galleon in Thursday night’s M A Hart Page Croft Cup final at Hurn Bridge (kick off 7.30pm) after winning their semi-final with Richmond Park Con 6-5 on penalties.
RPCC broke the deadlock in the second period of extra time when substitute Rob Pyle scored with virtually his first touch, heading home from close range. Division Two leaders Bisterne replied with a Sam Yeats header, though, and came out on top in a nail-biting penalty shoot-out.
• Portcastrian’s hopes of retaining the M A Hart Pickford Cup were dashed when M A Hart Poole Bay Challenge Cup finalists Old Oakmeadians just got the better of them 2-1 in the semi-final.
Alan Marsh and Tom Hall gave Old Oaks a two-goal lead but Steve Crawford pulled one back for Ports to ensure a tense finish.
• Redlynch & Woodfalls United narrowly failed to reach the final of the Wiltshire Junior Cup when they finished 3-3 after extra time against The Deverills who won 4-2 on penalties. Ben Read (2) and Ryan Cox were the Redlynch marksmen.
