UNBEATEN Hayward Premier Division championship contenders Westover Bournemouth are six points adrift of leaders Electric with three games in hand after Jake Jordan’s deflected shot proved decisive in their vital 1-0 win over third-placed Bournemouth Sports.
Old Oakmeadians shrugged off the disappointment of Thursday night’s M A Hart Pickford Cup final defeat when Keith Fitzjohn (2) and Sam Elliott gave them the upper hand 3-1 against Redlynch & Woodfalls United, while Portcastrian were also 3-1 winners when Robbie Woolner’s hat-trick accounted for Trinidad.
• Division One champions Bournemouth Electric reserves completed their campaign with a 5-2 success against Alderholt with all the goals coming in the first half.
Ben Hatch (2), James Crow (2) and Dan Baguley were the Electric marksmen with Nathan Welch and Mark Desborough replying for the visitors.
Stuart Pomeroy scored both goals when second-placed Allendale drew 2-2 with Verwood Town reserves who replied through Sam Adams and Dan Goodall.
Holt United’s promotion hopes, meanwhile, were dented when they went down 2-0 to goals from Emmanuel Ohameje and Matthew James against Ferndown Town Greenfields.
• Redhill Rangers are going right to the last game to see if they can avoid the drop in Division Two after Steve Thornley and Craig Wells earned them a 2-2 draw with Merley Cobham Sports. Alex Robinson scored both Cobham goals.
Sway reserves and Seyward Windows also finished 2-2 with James Crouch and Jamie Chilcott scoring for Sway and Jack Watson and Brian Thomson replying for the visitors.
• With no less than half their league fixtures to accommodate in the next few weeks, unbeaten Richmond Park Con maintained their Division Three promotion drive with a 4-2 success against Parley Sports A courtesy of Gareth Wanklyn’s hat-trick and a Paul Barber penalty, while Queens Park Athletic subdued Seabournes 2-0 with goals from Ricky Powell and Adam Janes.
• Division Four champions Electric A were beaten for only the second time this season when Dave Farendon struck to give Magpies a shock 1-0 win.
Sam Ray and Stuart Hartley netted for Albany Athletic but Bisterne Rangers finished their campaign with a 3-2 success thanks to Tom Faulkner, John White and an own goal.
Rangers will be runners-up if FC Athletico fail to win their last game of the season against BU Staff who went down 3-0 to goals from Olly Luchoomun, Jon Spooner and Garry Chancellor against New Milton Eagles.
• Unbeaten Queens Park Athletic reserves are a point ahead in the Division Six title race with three games to play after their 10-0 trouncing of Lymington Argyle.
Ace marksman Mike Thompson rattled in five with Alex Joy (2), Ross Logan, Josh Harper and Ryan Shaylor also on target.
Alderholt reserves climbed to fourth place after Alex O'Neill, Simon Newman and an own goal gave them the edge 3-2 against Lower Parkstone CFC.
River Smith (2), Steve Pockneall, Dave Austin and Alex Mackenzie gave Portcastrian reserves a 5-1 triumph over Townsend Spartans.
AFC Burton reserves, meanwhile, upended Ringwood Athletic 3-0 thanks to Will Fry, Sam Nailor and Mark Curtis.
• With their respective league placings already guaranteed, there was nothing but pride at stake when Division Five champions Mudeford Men’s Club reserves and runners-up Walker Scott shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw. Marvin Fayer-Honour was the Mudeford marksman with Scott Ramsier replying for Walker Scott.
Redlynch & Woodfalls United A finished a creditable third after Scott Down (2), Gregg Devine and Andrew Borland ensured a 4-0 win over Screw-It Carpentry.
In the basement battle, Bransgore United hammered Fernheath CFC 9-1 with goals from Sean Barton (2), Tom Newton (2), Tom Butcher, Paul Squires, Jem Page, Alex Payne and Andrew Barnetson.
