BROADSTONE touring professional failed in his bid for back-to-back victories on the Jamega Tour at The Shire yesterday.
The six-time Challenge Tour winner finished in 49th place after two rounds of 74 for an eight-over-par total.
James, who won £5,000 at Cumberwell Park last week, finished 16 shots behind first-time winner Gary King (Tyrrells Ford) who carded rounds of 65 and 69.
“Two rounds of 74 is just not good enough, I didn’t strike the ball well and my putting was average on both days,” said James, who is sponsored by Salterns Marina.
James also finished out of the prize money, while King picked up a cheque for £6,000.
Next stop on the Jamega Tour is the Rothschild Course at Mentmore in Bedfordshire on May 16-17.
