BOURNEMOUTH'S Littledown pool will become a cauldron of excitement on May 21 after east Dorset’s top three clubs were drawn together in the Southern Junior League.

Swim Bournemouth A, Christchurch Seagulls and Poole will be joined in their second round gala by Yeovil A, Three Towers A, Yeovil B and Weymouth.

Swim Bournemouth, winners of their first round gala, are effectively defending a league title won by Ferndown Otters before they and Bournemouth Dolphins merged last year.

Seagulls and Poole both came second in their first round outings but Poole should have a significantly stronger team this time as they welcome back key swimmers who were away on a training camp last month.

Yeovil A are also expected to present a strong challenge.

The league title has not been out of Dorset since 2004, when Swindon Dolphin were the champions.

Tornadoes of South Dorset won in 2005, Ferndown in 2006, 2009 and 2010 and Bournemouth Dolphins in 2007 and 2008.

The champions automatically qualify for a national semi-final against the winners of other leagues across the southern half of England.

Swim Bournemouth B travel to Weston-super-Mare to face Southwold, Chard, Jurassic, Warminster and West Dorset Warriors.

North Dorset Turboes visit Bridport where their opponents will be Weston-super-Mare, Swindon Dolphin, Bristol North, Tornadoes of South Dorset and Severnside Tritons.
