TEENAGER Georgia Hall bowed out of this year’s English ladies championship in the second round of the matchplay phase at West Sussex.
The 15-year-old Remedy Oak star was beaten 2 and 1 by Cheshire’s Charlotte Wild. Both players were under par in a tight contest.
Hall, who was the top seed after winning the 36-hole strokeplay qualifier, won her first round match 1 up against Newark’s Emma Sheffield.
Reigning champion Hayley Davis (Ferndown), meanwhile, withdrew from the event before the start of the first round after becoming unwell with a stomach bug.
Her opponent, fellow Dorset player Sophie Keech lost 2 and 1 to eventual finalist Charley Hull in the second round.
Fifteen-year-old Hull (Woburn) went on to lose at the 19th hole in the final to Lucy Williams (Hertfordshire).
Williams came from one down after 16 to snatch the title with a birdie, eagle, birdie finish.
