NICK Park followed up his maiden Southern League century with a swashbuckling 84 not out in the MCCA Trophy – but it was not enough to save Dorset from a five-wicket defeat.
Park top-scored as Sean Walbridge’s men racked up a modest 185 all out batting first against Oxfordshire at Redlands.
Bournemouth captain Simon Watkins was the only other Dorset batsman to make an impression, his 22 bucking the trend during a middle order collapse that saw Walbridge’s side slump from 35 for one to 96 for six.
In reply, half-centuries from Steve Adshead and Bradley Wadlan saw the visitors (186-5) home with seven overs to spare, with Matt Metcalfe (2-40), Tom Hicks (1-40), Dan Belt (1-34) and Watkins (1-12) among the wickets.
The result left Dorset bottom of Group Three following two straight defeats.
