AN array of household names are set to serve up a feast of cricket at Dean Park when Hampshire lock horns with Dorset.

The Royals have included a number of international stars in a talented 15-man squad for the Twenty20 clash in Bournemouth on Monday (2.30pm start).

Arguably the best known member of the Hampshire line-up is Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi, nicknamed Boom Boom for his explosive batting style.

Afridi boasts a reputation as a big hitter and holds the record for the fastest One-Day International century, which he smashed off just 37 deliveries in 1996.

Michael Lumb, a World Twenty20 Cup winner with England last year, could also feature, as well as South African Neil McKenzie and former England star Dimi Mascarenhas.

Dorset’s batsmen, including the experienced trio of Nick Park, Glyn Treagus and Darren Cowley, will also come in for a stern test.

Hampshire will be captained by England Test veteran Dominic Cork, while 2005 Ashes hero Simon Jones has also been named in the visiting squad.

Dorset have selected 12 players, all of whom will play a part.

Dorset will also host Gloucestershire Gladiators in a Twenty20 clash at Sherborne School today (5pm).

Ticket prices for each of the two games are £50 for a school or club ticket (two adults and 10 children), £20 for a family ticket (two adults and two children), £10 for adults and £5 concessions. Dorset CCC members can gain free entry on production of their membership card.

Tickets can be obtained by contacting 01202 881349 or via Dorset CCC secretary Barry Lewis on 01258 472282.
