PIRATES ace Chris Holder is aiming to continue his World Championship form after declaring himself fit for tonight’s Czech Grand Prix.
The 23-year-old Australian will be aiming to build on his triumph in the rain-soaked Swedish GP when he lines up in Prague.
Holder, fifth in the standings on 19 points, missed Pirates’ Elite Shield defeat at Wolves due to a virus.
But the Poole number one has recovered and is hoping to pick up where he left off against the world’s elite speedway riders.
In an interview with the speedwaygp.com website, Holder said: “Everything is going well. My form has been pretty good.
“My engines and bikes are going really well. I’m really confident I can do well and I learned a bit from last year. All of my engines were a bit too strong and I’ve gone back to a normal sort of set-up.
“I’m looking forward to Prague and I think it should be good.”
Holder is just five points behind series leaders Tomasz Gollob and Greg Hancock following his Swedish success. But he is refusing to get carried away with what has been an impressive start to the Grand Prix campaign.
He added: “We’ve only done two rounds, so I’m not looking into it too hard.
“Everyone wants to be up the top. I’ve got to keep chipping away and making the meetings count.
“I feel good and everything is going well. I just can’t have any dodgy GPs. I’ve got to stay solid and even if I don’t make the final, I want to walk away with at least 10 points.”
