DORSET’S Lee James maintained his position at the top of the Jamega Tour money list with a second-placed finish at The Warwickshire on Tuesday.
James, who has won two Jamega events this season, carded rounds of 68 and 72 for a four-under-par total to win £2,000.
The Salterns Marina-sponsored player shared second place with fellow Englishmen Kieran Staunton and Steve Surry – two shots behind winner Francis McGuirk who won the £7,000 first prize.
“It was probably the best I’ve struck the ball all year, but my putting let me down,” said James, who has won £12,790 from eight events.
“I took 35 putts on the second day and was three over par after 10 holes, but I was pleased to get it back to even par for the day with birdies at the 11th, 17th and 18th,” added James.
James will turn his attentions to the TP Tour Series for the next two weeks at Purdis Heath and Hankley Common while the Jamega Tour takes a short break.
The next Jamega Tour event is at Caversham Heath, near Reading, on June 27-28.
