FERNDOWN’S Tim Sholem has added the prestigious 72-hole strokeplay trophy to his impressive Bournemouth Association of Golf Clubs collection.

Sholem won the 60th Diamond Bournemouth Open with rounds of 69, 70, 67 and 71 at the Meyrick Park and Queens Park courses.

The four-handicapper is also the association’s current Melville Bowl knockout champion – a title he has won for the past two years.

Sholem’s latest triumph, however, was surrounded in controversy as the original winner, Daniel Pulham, was forced to disqualify himself.

The Wrag Barn player began the week playing off a five handicap when he should have been off four due to a successful competition on the Saturday before the Bournemouth Open.

Sholem, meanwhile, has been cut to a three handicap on the back of his recent success.

Dorset star Carly Cummins, meanwhile, won the ladies’ 36-hole scratch competition.

The Parkstone player carded rounds of 78 and 80 at Meyrick Park.
