POTENTIAL Cherries transfer target Adam Smith has admitted he faces a big decision over his future after receiving contract offers this summer.
The Tottenham Hotspur right-back starred for Cherries during a loan spell at Dean Court last term.
Cherries boss Lee Bradbury has been told by chairman Eddie Mitchell that funds are likely to be available to boost his squad ahead of next term.
Bradbury has made signing a central midfielder to replace Danny Hollands a priority, but assistant manager Steve Fletcher revealed earlier this month that Smith was among the club’s other potential close-season recruits.
However, the 20-year-old, who is likely to command either a nominal fee or compensation should he decide to leave Spurs, is still pondering his next move after being offered a new deal by the top-flight outfit.
In an interview with skysports.com, he said: “Spurs have offered me a new contract but I’m not sure whether I want to stay there or not because I want to be playing regular first-team football and reserve football is not really going to cut it.
“Going out on loan again is an option for me but I’ve had offers from other teams about making a permanent switch, so I’ve got a big decision to make between now and the start of pre-season.
“I could stay at Tottenham and go out on loan again or sign somewhere else and compete for a first-team place there.
“If I stay at Tottenham, it is going to be difficult to break into the first team because of all the full-backs they’ve got ahead of me in the pecking order, but it is a tough decision as I’ve been at the club for so long.”
